On Tuesday, June 3, Chesaning United (formerly Chesaning Area United Appeal) awarded phase one grants to the following recipients: Chesaning Area Emergency Relief (CAER) Center, $1,500; Brady Senior Center, $1,500; Young At Heart Club (Chesaning area seniors), $2,000; Manna From Heaven (food assistance), $2,000; Rehmann Health Center, $2,000; and Chesaning High School Indian Closet. Pictured are, front row, from left to right: Marcia Westrick and Janene Rider (CAER Center), Tina Sutton (Manna from Heaven), and Rita Huff Vsetula (Brady Senior Center). Back row, from left to right: Mary VanLoon and Cathy Gross (Rehmann Health Center), Charle Kline (Young at Heart Club), Dave Sutton (Manna from Heaven), Cindy McDougall (Brady Senior Center), Joe Ruthig (Chesaning United), and Kyle Byron (Chesaning United president). Chesaning United’s new grant format (which follows the

original CAUP qualifications) now provides a second grant window with the opportunity for possible projects to benefit the community that arise during the year instead of just a one-time window. Interested applicants can visit the Chesaning United Facebook page or see a board member.
